Why your Shopify store gets traffic but no sales

June 2026 · 4 min read · Tamaam Services

"I am getting visitors but nobody buys" is the most common Shopify complaint we hear. Good news: traffic is the hard part. Conversion is usually a checklist. Here is the one we run on every store audit.

1. Your offer, not your design

Most owners redesign when they should restructure the offer. Free shipping thresholds, bundles, and guarantees move conversion more than any color change. If a visitor cannot answer "why buy here instead of anywhere else?" in five seconds, no theme will save the sale.

2. Trust signals above the fold

Reviews with photos, clear return policy, secure-checkout badges, and a real contact method. International buyers especially will not enter card details on a store that feels anonymous.

3. Speed on mobile

70%+ of store traffic is mobile, and every extra second of load time costs roughly 7% of conversions. Oversized images and app bloat are the usual culprits — most stores we audit are running 10+ apps and need 4.

4. Product pages that answer objections

Size, shipping time, materials, what happens if it does not fit — every unanswered question is an abandoned cart. Your product page should close like a good salesperson, not read like a catalog entry.

5. Checkout friction

Forced account creation, surprise shipping costs, and missing payment methods kill orders at the last step. Surprise costs at checkout are the #1 abandonment reason worldwide — show the full price early.

6. You are guessing instead of measuring

Without analytics on the funnel, you cannot know whether people leave at the product page or the checkout — and the fix is different for each. This is the first thing we set up in our Shopify service, because everything else depends on it.
